What is trauma-informed integrative therapy?
Trauma-informed integrative therapy is a holistic approach that combines the principles of trauma-informed care with various therapeutic modalities to address the impact of trauma on an individual's well-being. It focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment, recognising the signs and symptoms of trauma, and tailoring treatment to meet the unique needs of each person.
What is Integrative Therapy?
Integrative therapy draws on multiple therapeutic approaches: I draw upon different modalities, such as Polyvagal Theory or EFT. Aims to promote holistic healing of the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of any individual.
Do I need a trauma diagnosis to benefit from this therapy?
No, you don't need a formal diagnosis to seek support. If you are experiencing the effects of something painful or overwhelming, it's enough to seek help.
What if I don't know where to start?
It's okay if you don't have a clear story or timeline before starting therapy. You can begin where you are, and we will explore together in a safe environment where the most important issues will naturally emerge.
What are some common signs and symptoms of trauma?
Trauma can manifest in various ways, including anxiety, depression, flashbacks, difficulty relaxing, relationship problems, and feelings of disconnection.
How does trauma affect my daily functioning?
Trauma can impact your relationships, work-life, self-care, and overall well-being.
What happens in a trauma-informed session?
Sessions are shaped around your needs—not a rigid agenda. You can expect: A grounding start—brief check-ins to see how you’re feeling emotionally and physically. Collaboration on goals and structure—no pressure to talk about anything you’re not ready to face. Attunement to emotional and bodily cues. Gentle exploration—your story is treated with care, and your strengths are acknowledged on-going consent—you're encouraged to say "no," ask for breaks, or change direction at any time.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Healing isn’t always a straight line—but there are signs that you’re in the right space and working with the right therapist. You might notice: You feel safer in your body and more aware of your emotions. You are developing language for experiences you once couldn’t explain. You feel empowered to set boundaries in and outside of therapy. You no longer feel alone in your pain—you feel accompanied. You leave sessions feeling calmer, clearer, or more hopeful (even if it’s hard work).

What happens next?
I will get back in touch with you at a convenient time to arrange a FREE 20-minute informal consultation to assess your issues and goals, and whether I can support you. If we are a 'good fit', we then arrange our first appointment, which is an initial assessment session. If I feel unable to help, I will signpost you to a more appropriate professional.
Initial Assessment Session: This is a longer session and lasts 75 minutes to collate additional more in-depth information, such as a questionnaire tracing your personal history and how we can work together with an agreement contract.
